CLINIC AND WORKSHOP POLICIES

This In-Person Training Policy governs all in-person services provided by Steady Horse LLC, whether delivered at Grace Ranch or at an off-site location. It is incorporated into the Steady Horse Terms and Conditions by reference. Where this Policy conflicts with the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions govern.

The Send Your Horse Program is additionally governed by a separate signed Send Your Horse Program Agreement.

1. WARNING UNDER TEXAS LAW

This warning is posted at Grace Ranch and appears in every contract for the provision of equine activity services, as required by law.

Horses are large, powerful, and unpredictable animals. Equine activities carry inherent and significant risks including but not limited to falls, kicks, bites, being stepped on, being thrown, trampling, equipment failure, allergic reactions, environmental and terrain hazards, weather, and the unpredictable behavior of other animals and other participants. These risks can result in serious injury, permanent disability, or death.

By registering for or participating in any in-person service, you acknowledge that you understand and accept these inherent risks.

2. Required Before You Participate

Every participant must complete the following before entering a working area or mounting a horse. Participation will be refused, without refund, where these are not complete.

1. Signed Liability Release and Assumption of Risk — no exceptions. A new release is required for every clinic, workshop, and first visit. Regular lesson clients sign once every 12 months, and must re-sign when that year lapses.
2. Parent or guardian signature for any participant under 18. Minors must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
3. Emergency contact information — name, relationship, and reachable phone number.
4. Medical disclosure of any condition, medication, injury, or pregnancy that could affect your safety around horses. This is provided in confidence and used only for your safety.
5. Current negative Coggins test for any horse brought on site, dated within 12 months. Texas law requires it. Upload it before the event or present it on arrival. A horse without a valid Coggins will not be permitted on the property, and no refund or credit is due. This applies at Grace Ranch and at every off-site clinic.
6. Proof of current vaccinations for any horse brought on site, as listed in your event confirmation.
7. Emergency medical authorization. You authorize Steady Horse to summon emergency medical care for you, or for a participant under 18 in your care, where you are unable to give consent at the time, and you are responsible for the cost of any transport, treatment, or emergency services provided. Steady Horse does not provide medical care or medical insurance and does not accept responsibility for the cost or the outcome of care obtained on your behalf. Each participant is responsible for maintaining their own health insurance.

3. Safety Rules

• Helmets are required for all mounted participants, of every age. ASTM/SEI-certified. Steady Horse may require a helmet for any activity at its discretion. A spare helmet may be available to borrow, but bring your own.
• Footwear: closed-toe shoes are required for everyone on site including riders, auditors, and guests. Boots with a heel are required for mounted work. No sandals or open-toe footwear.
• Follow all instructions from Steady Horse staff immediately and without argument. Instructions given around horses are safety instructions.
• Do not approach, touch, feed, or handle any horse that is not assigned to you.
• No alcohol, cannabis, or recreational impairing substances on site. Anyone who appears impaired will be removed without refund. Lawfully prescribed medication is not covered by this rule, but where it could affect your alertness, balance, or reaction time you must disclose it under Section 2 before the event. Steady Horse will decide in advance whether and how you may take part, and where it declines your participation on that basis before the event begins, your fee will be credited toward a future event.
• Children and non-participating guests must remain in designated spectator areas and be supervised at all times.
• Dogs must stay leashed and in the parking area. They are not permitted in working areas at any time.
• Smoking is permitted only in designated areas, well away from horses and hay.
• Report any injury, near miss, loose horse, or damaged equipment to staff immediately.

Steady Horse may end any participant's session, without refund, where in its sole judgment continuing would be unsafe for that participant, another participant, a horse, or staff.

4. Horses We Provide, and Equipment We Lend

Steady Horse sometimes assigns one of its own horses for a demonstration, a lesson, or a rental where a rental is offered, and sometimes lends halters, lead ropes, sticks, tack, or a spare helmet.

• Assignment is ours to make. Where Steady Horse assigns you one of its horses, that assignment is based on what you have told us about your experience. You must tell us honestly about your riding and handling experience, and about any physical limitation. An inaccurate account puts you and the horse at risk and is a breach of this Policy.
• Rental horses, where offered, are for clinic use only, rental fees are non-refundable, and all handling instructions must be followed at all times.
• Borrowed equipment: inspect anything we lend you before you use it and tell us immediately if anything looks worn, damaged, or wrong for the job. Do not use borrowed equipment you have not checked.
• Stallions are not permitted on the property unless approved in advance in writing by Steady Horse staff.

5. Your Horse

Where you bring your own horse:

• Your horse must be halter-broke, able to be safely handled and led, and suitable for the advertised activity. Tell us honestly about behavioral issues in advance — an accurate description keeps everyone safe and lets us plan.
• Steady Horse may decline to work with any horse it judges unsafe for the setting, or may move that horse to a modified activity. Where a horse is declined on arrival, or is moved to a modified activity, for any reason, no refund and no partial refund is due. Where you disclosed the relevant behavior accurately in advance and Steady Horse confirmed the horse's suitability for the event in writing before you travelled, Steady Horse will issue a credit toward a future event equal to the fee paid.
• You remain responsible for your horse at all times, including its behavior toward other horses, participants, staff, and property.
• You are responsible for any injury, death, or property damage caused by your horse.
• You are responsible for your own tack and equipment and for its condition and suitability.
• Bring your own hay and feed unless your confirmation states otherwise.

6. Lessons

• Lessons are scheduled individually and confirmed by email or text.
• Rescheduling: at least 24 hours' notice is required. With that notice, your lesson will be rescheduled at no charge.
• Late cancellation and no-shows: a lesson cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed entirely, is charged in full. Where the lesson was paid in advance, or was drawn from a prepaid lesson package, the lesson is forfeited: it is not refunded, credited, or rescheduled.
• Prepaid packages: lessons purchased as a package must be used within 12 months of purchase. Unused lessons expire at that point and are not refundable.
• Late arrival: lessons end at the scheduled time regardless of arrival time.
• Weather: see Section 9.

7. Clinics and Workshops

7.1 Registration and payment

Registration is confirmed only when payment is received. Spaces are limited and are allocated in order of confirmed registration.

7.2 Cancellation by you

All clinic and workshop sales are final. Steady Horse does not refund event registrations in any circumstance, including inability to attend, horse unsoundness, personal emergency, weather affecting your travel, or failure to meet the requirements in Section 2.

Transfers are the remedy instead of a refund:

A registration may instead be transferred to a different participant up to 7 days before the event at no charge, provided the incoming participant completes everything in Section 2. That also counts as your one transfer.

The 3% processing fee described in Section 6.2 of the Terms and Conditions is paid to our payment processor and is not returned to us, so it is not included in any credit. Where Steady Horse cancels an event under Section 6.3, the processing fee is refunded in full.

7.3 Cancellation by Steady Horse

If Steady Horse cancels an event, every registered participant receives a full credit toward a future event of equal value, valid for 12 months from the date of the cancelled event. Steady Horse will give at least 48 hours notice where possible, by email and text.

Steady Horse is not responsible for travel, lodging, hauling, or other costs you incur in connection with a cancelled event. Buy refundable travel or insure it.

7.4 Auditors

Where auditor spaces are offered, auditors must complete a liability release, remain in designated spectator areas, and follow all safety rules. Auditor fees follow the same cancellation schedule, except that the administrative fee deducted from an auditor refund is the lesser of $50 or 20% of the auditor fee paid. Auditor spaces may be transferred on the same terms as participant registrations.

7.5 Overnight boarding and horse rental

• Overnight boarding is available at $35 per night where offered. Boarding fees are non-refundable. You remain responsible for your horse outside event hours, and you must bring your own feed and supplies. Steady Horse is not liable for injury, illness, or escape of a boarded horse.
• Horse rental is available for select events subject to availability. Rental fees are non-refundable.

7.6 Included Club trial

Clinic, workshop, and in-person training registrations include a complimentary 90-day Steady Horse Club trial. This is an extended promotional trial for in-person students; the standard Steady Horse Club trial is 30 days.

• The trial is 90 days unless your registration says otherwise. The trial length, the date of the first charge, and the amount of that charge are stated at the point of registration and repeated in your confirmation email. Where those stated terms differ from the 90 days above, the terms stated at registration govern.
• At the end of the trial your enrollment begins billing automatically at the stated amount on the stated date, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
• We will email you a reminder at least 14 days before the first charge. A 90-day trial is long enough to forget, so the reminder is sent whether or not you have opened anything in the meantime. It is your responsibility to keep a current email address on your account.
• You may cancel at any time during the trial through the support form at support.steadyhorse.com at no cost.
• Where the trial converts to a paid Steady Horse Club enrollment, your Program Start Date for that enrollment, and therefore the start of the 30-Day Earnest Effort Guarantee window described in Section 5.2 of the Terms and Conditions, is the date of the first Club charge, not the date of your clinic registration. This date is stated in your confirmation email.

8. Send Your Horse Program

The Send Your Horse Program provides in-person training and boarding at Grace Ranch and is governed by a separate signed Send Your Horse Program Agreement in addition to this Policy. Key terms:

• Payment is due by the 1st of each month.
• Late fee: a one-time late fee of 15% of the overdue monthly payment, not of the total account balance, applies to any monthly payment not received within 10 days of its due date, consistent with Section 6.4 of the Terms and Conditions. The late fee is charged once per overdue monthly payment and does not compound.
• Lien rights under applicable Texas law may be enforced on any balance more than 10 days overdue.
• Minimum training term of 6 months applies unless a shorter term is agreed in writing in advance.
• Current negative Coggins, dated within 12 months, and current vaccinations must be received and confirmed by Steady Horse before arrival. A horse arriving without confirmed paperwork will not be unloaded, and no refund or credit is due.
• Veterinary and farrier care: you must maintain a working relationship with a veterinarian and farrier and keep authorization current. In an emergency where you cannot be reached, Steady Horse may obtain veterinary care at your expense, using reasonable judgment and acting in the horse's interest. Steady Horse will make every reasonable effort to reach you or your listed emergency contact before authorizing any single treatment expected to exceed $500, and will not authorize elective surgery or euthanasia without reaching you unless a licensed veterinarian advises that waiting would be inhumane. You are responsible for all veterinary and transport costs incurred.
• Insurance: you are strongly encouraged to carry mortality and major medical insurance on any horse in our care. Steady Horse does not insure your horse.
• Grace Ranch is not liable for injury, death, theft, illness, or escape of boarded animals, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
• No refunds are available once the Send Your Horse Program has commenced, due to the physical and logistical nature of the services provided. Where you withdraw a horse early, the minimum term obligation in your Agreement continues to apply.
• Ending boarding: after the minimum training term, either party may end the arrangement on 30 days' written notice.
• Collection of your horse: where a horse remains on site after the end of its training term, boarding continues to accrue from the day after the term ends at the daily board rate stated in your Send Your Horse Program Agreement, or where none is stated, at the published overnight boarding rate of $35 per night. Where any balance remains unpaid more than 10 days after written notice, lien rights under applicable Texas law may be exercised.

9. Weather and Force Majeure

Texas weather moves fast and horses do not read forecasts. Safety decisions are ours to make and are final.

• Lessons cancelled by Steady Horse for weather are rescheduled at no charge.
• Events run rain or shine. Clinics and workshops affected by weather may be shortened, moved indoors, restructured, or rescheduled. Where the event proceeds in modified form, no refund is due. Where it is cancelled outright, Section 7.3 applies.
• Steady Horse is not liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, fire, flood, epidemic, equine illness or quarantine, utility failure, or government order.

10. Photography, Video, and Recording

In-person events are frequently photographed and filmed for coaching review and for Steady Horse marketing.

• By registering for or attending an event, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded, and to Steady Horse using that footage for coaching review, community education, social media, email marketing, website content, webinars, and paid advertising, without compensation.
• If you do not want to appear in marketing, you must tell us in writing before your event through the support form at support.steadyhorse.com, or tell the event lead on arrival. We will keep you out of the footage we use.
• Opting out does not affect your participation or your access to anything.
• Participants may photograph and film their own horse and session. Filming other participants, other horses, or Steady Horse instruction for redistribution or teaching is not permitted without written consent.

11. Personal Property

Steady Horse is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property, tack, trailers, or vehicles brought onto the property. Lock what matters to you.

Damage you cause. You are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any Steady Horse or Grace Ranch property, facility, fencing, gate, tack, or equipment, and for veterinary costs arising from injury to any Steady Horse horse, where the damage or injury is caused by you, by a member of your party, by your guests, or by your dog or other animal, whether or not it was intentional.

12. Conduct

Grace Ranch is a working ranch and a shared learning environment. Treat the horses, the staff, and the other participants with patience and respect. Harassment, aggression, mistreatment of a horse, or repeated disregard of safety instruction will result in immediate removal from the property without refund, and may end your access to Steady Horse Services entirely.

13. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. The exclusive venue for any legal proceeding is Wilson County, Texas. Good-faith participation in mediation in Wilson County, Texas is a condition precedent to any other legal action.

14. Contact

How to reach us

There is one way to contact us that we guarantee gets seen, and it is a form.

Submitting the correct form is the only method that puts your message in front of our team with a record attached. We read email, voicemail, and text where we can, and we usually reply, but we cannot guarantee that a message sent any other way will be seen or acted on, and replies to automated emails and automated text messages frequently are not.

This matters for anything with a deadline. A refund request, a cancellation, a withdrawal of marketing consent, a privacy request, or any formal notice under these terms is effective only when submitted through the correct form above, or sent by mail to the postal address below. A message sent another way does not start any clock, does not preserve a deadline, and does not constitute notice.
